Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Awantipora Police arrested 03 drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
During naka checking at Befina road Pampore, police party of Police Station Pampore headed by SHO PS Pampore Dy.SP(p) Shri Shravan Singh under the supervision of SDPO Pampore intercepted 03 persons in suspicious condition,when police party signalled them to stop they tried to flee from the spot but police party apprehended them tactfully. During search, 10.38 grams of Heroin like substance were recovered from their possession. The arrested drug peddlers have been identified as:-
1) Manzoor Ahmed Mir S/o Abdul Khaliq Mir R/o Kadalbal Pampore
2) Asrar Manzoor S/o Manzoor Ahmed Baba R/o Panth Chowk Srinagar
3) Muneer Rasool Bhat S/o Ghulam Rasool R/o Namblabal Pampore.
Case FIR number 77/2025 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Pampore and investigation taken up.
