Kupwara: Two persons were killed and another person sustained injuries after an oil-tanker they were travelling in fell into a gorge in Machil area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara, officials said on Sunday.
The officials told, that an oil-tanker of Bharat Petroleum bearing number JK02DG 9805, skidded off the road and rolled down into a deep gorge, resulting in death of two persons and injuries to another.
Identifying the killed duo as Jasbir Singh son of Gareeb Singh, hailing from Balshama Sunderbani Rajouri and Unkush Choudhary son of Paramjit from Nowshera, the official identified the injured as Anu Sharma son of Sunath Lal Sharma from Sunderbani Rajouri.
“The injured person alongside the two bodies, was evacuated to Sub-district Hospital Kupwara,” said the official, adding, “Police have taken cognisance of the incident for due investigation.”
