A 22-year-old youth died after a branch of a chinar tree fell on him in Patti Rampora area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, officials said.

An official told that the youth identified as Umar Ganai of Safapora was passing by the area when some labourers were cutting the chinar tree.

He said a branch of the tree fell on Umar, resulting in critical injuries to him. “He was immediately shifted to district hospita Ganderbal, where he was declared dead on arrival,” he said.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident—(KNO)
