49,354 graduates passed out in J&K in last two years: Govt

The government on Tuesday said that around 50,000 graduates passed out in the last two years while around 11,000 selections were made by JKPSC and JKSSB during the period.

Replying to the question of Chandar Prakash Ganga, the Minister concerned said that 25,428 and 23,926 graduates passed out in 2023 and 2024 respectively while the selections made by JKPSC and JKSSB in the same period are 2,175 and 9,351 respectively.

So, a total of 49,354 graduates passed out while 11,526 selections were made in the last two years, the reply reads, adding that in the private sector, the employment generated in the industrial sector in 2022-23 is 15719 and 29969 in 2023-24.

Under private employment generated through self-employment and livelihood schemes, he said from the last four years, a total of 9.58 lakh self-employment livelihood opportunities have been generated through schemes like Mumkin, Tejaswini, PMEGP, REGP etc. upto January 2025 viz a viz 2021-22-299266, 2022-23-283664, 2023-24-238675 and 2024-25-136165 upto to January 2025.

“Under MGNREGA, 3.01 Crore person-days were generated upto Jan 2025, which provided employment to 8.07 lakh households,” the Minister said—(KNO)
