Kupwara, Ali Public School Main Campus Naseem Bagh Wavoora in coordination with Volunteers Group of Lalpora on monday held a Felicitation Ceremony to the newly appointed Journalist Fraternity Kupwara body.
The function begun with the recitation of Holy verses of the Quran, which was performed by Jamsheed Ahmad.
Mahmood Ul Hasan, Chairman APS Lolab gave the detailed introductory remarks of the institution and informed the gathering that more than 150 students are enrolled who are receiving education free of cost.
The Felicitation event was attended by Sub-divisional Magistrate Lolab Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, SHO Lalpora Malik Naseer, Nazim Nazir (Sub-Editor Tameel-i-Irshad) besides the prominent figures from the different sections of the society.
Mufti Zahoor Shah Qasmi while addressing at the ceremony shed light on role and responsibility of media during this social media age. He said that media plays a major role in between public and administration and persons with having pen and mike in hand must follow the ethics of journalism.
SDM Lolab threw light on role, responsibility and ethics of journalism. He said that media is the fourth pillar of democracy and urges the media houses to follow the ethics of journalism in letter and spirit.
Nazim Nazir (Sub-Editor Tameel-i-Irshad) while highlighting the significance of media said that media works as a bridge between public and the administration. He said that this is my ist experience that any educational institute is felicitating working journalist body. He extended his heartiest greetings to the organisers for organising such beautiful and effective event.
He throughly highlighted the significance of media which is also known as fourth pillar of democracy. He said that media plays a pivotal role in between public & administration and works as a ‘bridge’ between the two categories.
“People have expectations from us and we should try to meet their expectations at any cost. They are monitoring our day to day activities day in and day out,” Journalist Fraternity Kupwara President Yahya Sultan said,
“We are staying at the soil who gave the birth to a renowned personality Alama Anwar Shah Kashmiri (RA) who has recieved remarkable applause from worldwide. This valley also gave the birth to its ist IAS officer Dr Shah Faesal”, Yaha further said,
“Journalist Fraternity Kupwara is always available at your doorstep, whenever you need any sort of coverage, help from us”, he further added,
Chairman Journalist Fraternity Kupwara Sahil Shameem while paying vote of gratitude to the Ali Public School management for organising the succesful event in honour of Journalist Fraternity Kupwara. He directed the media persons to work under proper media protocols and follow the ethics from top to bottom.
