Initiates Basti Sampark Abhiyan at Valmiki Colony, Ward 20 Sh. Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former deputy Chief Minister said that the landmark decision of the Modi government to abrogate Article 370 from the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir has ensured that the Valmiki Samaj, a community historically marginalized and deprived of equal rights, can living with dignity, pride, and equality. The Former Deputy Chief Minister was speaking while initiating the Basti Sampark Abhiyan as a part of Seva Pakhwada in Valmiki Colony, Ward No. 20 of Gandhi Nagar. BJP District President Jammu South Smt. Rekha Mahajan & Councillor Sh. Rahul Kumar, Sh. Jangh Bahadur President Valmiki Colony, Verma, District Secretary BJP Jammu South Sh. Rohiin Chandan, District Publicity Secretary Sh. Sandeep Gupta, Mandal General Secretary Sh. Rachit Khosla, Ward President Sh. Satbir Singh, Sh. Rikki Gupta, and others party men and the large number of women folk from Valmiki Samaj were present in the program. The main motto of the extensive tour in Valmiki Colony is aiming to expand a greater connection with Common masses at ground level. Sh. Kavinder said that the decision of abrogating Article 370 has not only paved the way for the integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of the nation but has also brought about significant positive changes for marginalized communities like the Valmiki Samaj. He emphasized that the Valmiki Samaj, like all citizens of the country, has the fundamental right to live with dignity and enjoy equal opportunities. “The Modi government’s commitment to the upliftment of marginalized communities is commendable. By ensuring that the Valmiki Samaj can live with dignity, pride, and equality, we have taken a significant step towards a more inclusive and just society,” he added. Sh. Kavinder said that “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas” will now be visible on the ground with the participation and sharing of all the sections of the society in welfare schemes and developmental projects. Smt. Rekha Mahajan said that it is indeed a good development that the abrogation of Art 370 has brought smiles on the faces of the people of the State, barring a few, who used to consider themselves as the ‘masters’ and had no concern for common citizens but always focused on self-interests. She added that today every person residing in Jammu & Kashmir has rights and is getting direct benefits under welfare schemes initiated by PM Modi like PM Awas Yojana, Ayushman Golden Card, Pension numerous public-friendly schemes. Representatives of J&K Valmiki Samaj hailed the Modi-led government policies and expressed that the historic decision of PM Modi and Home Minister, Sh. Amit Shah and BJP state leadership always will do justice to the neglected Valmiki community which was paid no heed by different Governments since independence. Now under the leadership of PM Modi the downtrodden community of Valmiki Samaj will prosper, they added.
