Avalanche warning issued for ten districts of Jammu & Kashmir

SRINAGAR: J&K Disaster Management Authority (JKDMA) Sunday issued low and medium danger level avalanche warning for ten district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Avalanche with low danger level is likely to occur above 2500 metres over Anantnag and Kulgam districts in next 24 hours. Also avalanche with medium danger level is likely to occur above 2200 metres over Doda, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban, Bandipora, Baramulla, Kupwara and Ganderbal districts in next 24 hours”, JKDMA in an advisory said.

According to advisory people living in these areas are advised to take precautions and avoid venturing in the avalanche prone areas.

Further it stated that people need any kind of help in exigencies can dial 112 for assistance.
