The District Police Poonch continues its commitment to strengthening the rule of law by organizing a series of awareness programmes focused on newly introduced criminal laws. The initiative, held at Poonch conducted in aim to educate the general public and students about their rights and responsibilities under the latest legal reforms.
The people were educated and deliberated regarding the changes in the new laws, and highlighted various keys features and new provisions of laws, especially those related to citizens friendly measures such as zero FIR and E FIR , introduction of community services as a new form of punishment , more lenient treatment of first time offenders, introduction on organised crime and cyber crime, new penalties, scientific approach towards evidence collection and admissibility of digital records etc.
By providing people with the necessary knowledge and resources, we hope to empower them to make informed decisions,” said the Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch Sh Shafket Hussain JKPS.
The initiative was well-received by participants, who expressed appreciation for the efforts of the District Police in bridging the gap between law enforcement and the public. Attendees showed enthusiasm in learning about the laws and pledged to support the police in their mission to ensure justice and security in the region.
