On Wednesday, the Chairman of the Democratic Progressive Alliance Party (DPAP), Ghulam Nabi Azad, declared that his party would reinstate the Roshni Act if they regain power. Speaking to several delegations of the ST community in Jammu, Azad asserted, ‘If our party emerges victorious in the elections, we will reintroduce the Roshni Act Scheme, which had provided significant assistance to thousands of underprivileged individuals throughout Jammu and Kashmir.’
During a meeting with DPAP office bearers in Jammu, Azad directed them to enhance the party’s activities and encourage more residents to join DPAP in Jammu and Kashmir. Azad emphasized that DPAP is well-informed about the challenges faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir. ‘We are committed to reaching every corner of the Union Territory to engage with the local populace, ensuring that the genuine issues faced by the people are effectively addressed.
