In a significant step towards promoting hygiene and public cleanliness, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) organized a comprehensive cleanliness drive under the banner of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at the Srinagar Fruit Mandi today. The initiative focused on spreading awareness about cleanliness and hygiene, especially among the truck drivers and workers operating in the area.
As part of the drive, free hygienic kits were distributed among the truck drivers to encourage the adoption of healthy and hygienic practices. The event witnessed active participation from workers, BPCL representative, and members of the civil society.
Prominent social worker Syed Aijaz Kashani also joined the cleanliness drive and lauded BPCL’s initiative in contributing towards a cleaner and healthier environment. He emphasized the importance of community involvement in maintaining public spaces and promoting sustainable cleanliness habits.All participants took the Swachhta Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to keeping their surroundings clean and supporting the national vision of a “Swachh Bharat.”
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Abrar Baba, Representative of BPCL, expressed his gratitude to all the participants and collaborators for their active involvement. He stated, “Cleanliness is not just a one-day effort but a continuous commitment. We are thankful to everyone, especially our frontline workers and respected dignitaries like Syed Aijaz Kashani, for supporting this noble cause.”
