Turning to agriculture, LG Sinha praised the Holistic Agricultural Development Programme (HADP) for farmers in Jammu and Kashmir, which has led to a revolution in farming practices. “Farmers are adopting innovative methods, proving their capability to achieve new heights. Gandhiji always recognized the wisdom of Indian farmers, and today, their contributions are shaping a self-reliant India,” he said.

LG Sinha also underlined the government’s efforts to create employment opportunities for the youth, emphasizing the need for collective action.

“People want Swaraj, and I want Swaraj too. But first, we must take the initiative; only then will the government follow,” LG Sinha quoted Gandhiji as having said.

*GANDHIJI’S PRINCIPLES GUIDING FORCE FOR US*

Referring to the principles and values of Mahatma Gandhi, LG Sinha said, “The principles and values of truth and non-violence to which Gandhiji was always committed are beyond time and place. They are as relevant today as they were during his lifetime. He has guided us for peaceful resolution of differences and well-being of every Indian.”

The Lieutenant Governor honoured the family members of the army brave-hearts, and also paid homage to all the leaders, fighters, and martyrs who devoted themselves towards India’s freedom. “The world, that we live in today, is witnessing conflicts. I am confident in this situation Bapu’s ideals will show the right path to humanity,” LG said.

The Lieutenant Governor called upon every section of the society to rededicate themselves to the ideals and values of Mahatma Gandhi and come together for the cause of empowerment of poor, youth, women and farmers and make their valuable contribution to realise the vision of Viksit Bharat.
