Srinagar : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership took a significant step towards environmental conservation today by planting trees in the Shital Nath area of Habba Kadal, Srinagar, under the “Ek Ped Maa Ka Naam” program.
The initiative was led by Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organization) J&K UT, and Srinagar district President Ashok Bhat. The event saw the participation of notable figures such as Rayees Ahmad, Saba Ali, Majid Khan, and several others.
During his address, Ashok Koul highlighted the crucial need for tree planting in the face of rapid urbanization. He stressed the importance of maintaining ecological balance and ensuring clean air for residents. Ashok Koul noted that the “Ek Ped Maa Ka Naam” program was launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party Central Command to promote tree planting habits among the public, especially the youth, aiming to keep India green and clean.
The campaign, inaugurated by the Prime Minister and the party President, involves the plantation of crores of trees across India. Shri Koul urged both party cadres and the general public to actively participate in this initiative by planting trees in their surroundings to enjoy fresh air and lead healthy lives.
