SRINAGAR: PDP president and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti Thursday stated that BJP will end constitution if re-elected power at the centre.

She was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a public meeting.

Mehbooba alleged that BJP is focusing on religious matters and talking about ‘mangalsutra’ because they sense a loss in the initial two-phases of Lok Sabha elections in the country. She said that people are aware of their intentions in raking up religious issues and have realized the party won’t do anything better for country and its people. “BJP only knows to make Hindu & Muslim fight to each other,” she said.

She said if BJP will re-elected to power at the centre it will end the constitution.

Responding to a query, the PDP president said that the happening of encounters in Anantnag-Rajouri belt is intended to prevent Mehbooba Mufti from reaching to the Parliament and people for voting.

“Poonch attack is condemnable but arrested being made afterwards should be looked into by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha who should pass directions to security forces to stop this arrest culture,” Mehbooba said.

She added that police and administration should be neutral in political matters and they should refrain in indulging in it. “Police is preventing us from reaching out to people but at the same time they are supported proxies of BJP and thus curtailing our movement which is brazen violation of the guidelines set by ECI,” she asserted.
