Body Of A Boy Seen Floating In River Jhelum in Uri, Before Being Swept Away Across LoC

The body of a boy was seen floating in the River Jhelum in Uri, before being swept away across the LoC on Thursday.

An official told that a body was seen in Jhelum River near Kaman Post along the LoC in the afternoon. “Police and other rescue teams attempted to retrieve it, however due to the strong currents it flowed to the other side of the border,” he said.

The official added that the body is likely of a boy who had jumped into the river on March 5 along with a girl in Dulanja area of Uri.

However, both individuals remain missing as of now as their bodies are yet to be recovered.(GNS)
