The Border Library Sogam which is viewed as an essential place for the region’s students and reader community in the Lolab area, is operating poorly with no infrastructure. The facility has been subject of repeated requests to relevant authorities but still does not have basic amenities including basic seating, internet connectivity.
The host of aspirants who rely on the library like preparing for examinations JKSSB and UPSC have to move on with their study under unfavorable and de-motivating circumstances.
“This public library is the only form of educational support for many of us – we are not asking for luxury facilities – but just the basic facilities to read and study with adequate provision for safety,” said a student from the area.
They appeal again to the district administration and responsible departments especially the department of Libraries and Education to take immediate action develop the immediate need for internet connectivity and upkeep at the Border Library Sogam.
