In an effort to tackle traffic congestion and inconvenience to the public in Kupwara, the Chief Executive Officer of the Municipal Council has issued an order imposing complete restrictions on the illegal parking of vending and other goods carrier vehicles on Bye-pass road and Hospital Road.
The order outlines a three-tier penalty system for violations:
- Rs 500 fine for the first violation.
- Rs 900 fine for the second violation.
- Recommendation for vehicle seizure through ARTO Kupwara for the third violation.
Additionally, shopkeepers encroaching on footpaths will face a fine of Rs 900 as per the Municipal Act 2000, with repeated violations resulting in the seizure of the shop.
A dedicated team of officials and employees, led by Mohammad Maqbool Mir and Abdul Rouf Lone, has been constituted to ensure the effective implementation of the order. Their responsibilities include reporting for duty at 9:30 am and preventing any illegal parking on Bye-pass and Hospital roads. (TRK News)
