The Jammu & Kashmir Police Ganderbal successfully conducted the Civic Action Programme on Cybercrime, focusing on raising awareness among students about the risks and legal consequences of cyber offenses.
The event commenced with a welcoming address by Dr. G.M. Bhat, Head of the Department of SAF, a distinguished scholar with numerous research publications to his credit. Dr. Bhat highlighted the diverse student demographics, with participants from West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Himachal Pradesh, and acknowledged the notable contributions of forestry graduates in law enforcement.
Addressing the critical issue of cybercrime, Dr. Bhat warned against the temptation of quick and unlawful solutions, which may offer short-term advantages but lead to severe legal repercussions. He expressed gratitude to SHO Lar, Sajad Assad Sahib, for his unwavering support and concluded his speech with a strong message:
“Sustained hard work is the sole path to achievement, and a resolute commitment to lawful conduct is imperative.”
As part of the program, an essay and quiz competition was organized, recognizing outstanding student performances with cash prizes.
The faculty students secured a total cash prize of ₹12,000.
The awards were presented by Dr. G.M. Bhat, alongside Dr. Meghna, Dr. Maqbool, SP Operations Parvaiz Sahib, SP Ganderbal, and officials from District Police Line Ganderbal.
Dr. Bhat commended the students for their enthusiastic participation and extended his gratitude to all those who contributed to the event’s success. He also emphasized the need for future awareness programs to educate Generation about the dangers of cybercrime and ensure a safer digital environment.
