Cold and Fog Blanket Kashmir

As freezing temperatures persist, thick fog envelops the Kashmir Valley, disrupting traffic flow. Srinagar recorded a low of minus 2.3°C, slightly below the normal temperature for this time of year. Widespread fog causes visibility issues, affecting commuters.

Qazigund, Pahalgam, and Kokernag experienced varying temperatures, while Kupwara and Gulmarg faced sub-zero conditions. The ongoing ‘Chillai-Kalan’ winter period prevails until January 30, with dry weather expected till December 26. Cloudy conditions may bring light snow on December 27, followed by dry weather till month-end. From January 1-3, the forecast indicates generally cloudy conditions with scattered light rain/snow.
