Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Director General (CID), RR Swain, emphasized the force’s relentless efforts to eliminate fear from the hearts and minds of the common people. Speaking at a press conference during a major marathon organized by the J&K police, Swain highlighted their commitment to combating individuals promoting violence, stressing that this battle requires exceptional courage inherent within the J&K police.
He pointed out that the challenges faced by J&K police are unique, arising from an “organized” enemy backed by external support and influence. Swain underscored that their silent fight is on behalf of the ordinary citizens—be it a farmer, a lawyer, a religious leader, a journalist, or any law-abiding individual in a remote village. The marathon event, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti, symbolized the spirit of non-violence advocated by Mahatma Gandhi.
Swain emphasized the importance of distinguishing between peace-loving citizens and those with violent intentions, clarifying that their fight is against those propagating violence. Their mission is to remove fear from the hearts and minds of the common people, aligning with the ideals of peace promoted by Gandhi.
