Kupwara Police, during routine NAKA checking at two different locations, apprehended three individuals found in possession of contraband substances.
In The first incident on 07 January 2025, at about 1810 hours a police team from Police Post Drugmulla established a checkpoint at Mutipora Drugmulla. During the checking, a man exhibiting suspicious behavior was intercepted by the police. Upon questioning, he revealed his identity as Amir Rashid Lone, R/O Drugmulla. A personal search led to the recovery of 18 grams of charas from his possession. A case under FIR No. 07/2025 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
In the second incident, earlier the same day at about 1720 hours, a police team of this Police Station established a NAKA at Khumriyal. During the checking, two individuals were stopped and identified as Javeed Ahmad Ahanger, Lolab, and Arshed Ahmad Bhat, R/O Lolab. A search of their belongings resulted in the recovery of 25 grams of charas. In this connection, a case under FIR No. 06/2025 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered, and investigations have been initiated.
