Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the greatest footballers of all time, has made it clear: Saudi Arabia is more than just a career stop, it’s home.
In a deeply personal and wide-ranging video shared by Al Nassr Football Club on its YouTube channel, the 40-year-old Portuguese icon said he intends to live in the Kingdom for the rest of his life. “My family always supports my decisions, and we’re happy here in Saudi Arabia,” Ronaldo said. “The people treat us in an incredibly warm way. That’s why we want to live here and build our lives here.”
Ronaldo described the Kingdom as a land of “peace and safety,” and expressed genuine satisfaction with his family’s experience since relocating. He said it’s a place where he plans to stay for life and play a meaningful role in the country’s growth forever beyond football.
He joined Al Nassr in late 2022 after a dramatic exit from Manchester United, and has since found not only a new team but, according to him, a new life. TOI
