KULGAM : To ensure better healthcare facilities in the district, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan , today visited District Hospital (DH) Kulgam to take stock of ongoing health projects and patient care services.
During the visit, the DC expressed satisfaction over the progress of the 50-bedded Emergency Critical Care Unit, and also reviewed the additional block for maternity and child health, renovation and upgradation of the main hospital building, new ticketing counter-cum-waiting area, and the development of additional car parking space.
The DC conducted a detailed review of hospital functioning by visiting various IPD wards, where he interacted with patients and enquired about the facilities being provided.
He directed the executing agency to expedite the remaining work of the old hospital building so that it can be fully utilized for patients at the earliest.
It was informed that the hospital infrastructure has been significantly upgraded, including the installation of a digital X-ray plant, anesthesia station, orthopedic surgery theatre, and machinery for the dialysis centre.
It was also shared that a dedicated mortuary area has been completed.
The DC was accompanied by ADC, Viqar Ahmed Giri; ACR, Riyaz Ahmad Shah; CMO, Dr.Showkat Ahmad; Medical Superintendent, Dr.Syed Masood; EXen R&B, Shabir Ahmad Tak; AEE R&B, CEO MC Kulgam, and the administrative staff of District Hospital Kulgam.
