The Wavoora to Khumriyal road still lies in total disrepair and the public are suffering from major inconveniences owing to it. The Roads & Buildings (R&B) Department has not responded to repeated requests for repair, creating frustration and indignation amongst residents.
The inhabitants of Wovora, Cherkut, and Khumriyal said that even though the MLAs of Lolab and Kupwara, along with the SDM Lolab, Executive Engineer of the R&B Department, and other government officials use this road daily, they still fail to address the issue.
The residents are saying their contribution to voting is wasted as there has been no development or progress. “We trusted our representative but this road exposes the neglect and ineptitude of our leaders,” said a resident.
Now the public are demanding the action of MLA Qaiser Jamsheed Lone and MLA Kupwara Fayaz Mir to arrange repair of the road without further delay. The situation is intolerable for students, patients and commuters.
