Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed deep sorrow over the devastating fire that ravaged Old Town Baramulla, leaving nearly 30 families homeless and in distress. This tragic incident has not only destroyed homes but has also shattered the lives and livelihoods of those affected.
A delegation of PDP headed by District President Baramulla Mohd Rafique Rather and accompanied by senior leaders Badhir Ahmad Bhat, Mohd Shafi Pakiza, Gh.Mohd Dar, Irshad Ahnad Gojree, Gh.Hassan khan, farooq wasil and others today morning visited the place to take stock of the situation.
On the occassion Rafique Rather while speaking with the effected familes said thst PDP leadership stands in solidarity with the victims of this calamity and urge the administration to take immediate measures to provide relief, shelter, and financial assistance to the affected families. It is crucial that essential supplies, including food, warm clothing, and medical aid, are promptly delivered to those in need,Rather said.
The affected families have lost everything—their homes, belongings, and means of sustenance. In these testing times, Rafique Rather said it is our collective responsibility to extend a helping hand. “I appeal to the government to announce a comprehensive compensation and rehabilitation package to ensure that the victims can rebuild their lives with dignity.
Rather appreciated Civil Society Baramulla for coming to the rescue of the effected familes and said that Party leadership will provide every support cash and kind to the group constituted by civil society.
Additionally, I call upon charitable organizations, NGOs, and kind-hearted individuals to come forward and support these families in every possible way.
Rather conveyed deep feeling of sympathy and solidarity from PDP supremo Ms.Mehbooba Mufti Sahiba and added that she will personally take up the issue with the govt to provide adequate relief to effected familes.
Rather also urged the authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire and take preventive measures to avoid such disasters in the future.
