DIG JKS Range Shiv Kumar Sharma (IPS) visited Rajbagh and Marheen to meet the families of two missing boys, Deenu (15) and Rehmat Ali (12), and assured them that every possible effort would be made to trace them.
The boys have gone missing just days after three locals were found dead in a deep gorge in the Billawar area.
Accompanied by DySP Border Dheeraj Katoch and SHO Rajbagh Ajay Chib, the DIG assured the families that police teams were actively working on the case.
The boys, Deenu, son of Swaru, and Rehmat Ali, son of Makhan Din, had gone for cattle grazing near Bhamberwan Goat Farm on February 27, 2025, at around 11:00 AM, but never returned home. Their families reported the matter to Police Station Rajbagh, submitting a written application in Hindi.
Following the complaint, a case (FIR No. 51/2025 U/S 137(2) BNS) was registered, and an investigation was launched.
DIG Sharma directed the SHO and DySP to coordinate with other districts and relatives in Punjab, Jammu, and Udhampur to gather leads. He also instructed the formation of special teams and the circulation of photographs of the missing boys to aid in their search.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to help locate the missing children.
