The Sub District Hospital Kupwara doctors have successfully performed a challenging surgery on a four-year-old boy namely Usman Aijaz, S/O Aijaz Ahmed Mir, R/O Cheki Keegam Kandi. The child was admitted on Friday evening with serious cut in throat and with an accidental injury caused to him by a tin sheet while falling from an apple tree.
Although such cases are rare in a sub-district hospital, the doctors came forward to treat him. The surgical team was assisted by Dr. Rayees Ahmed, comprising DNB PG Dr. Ramakrishna, Surgical Assistant Mr. Syed Tariq, Anaesthetist Dr. Jahangir, DNB PG Dr. Tayab, and Anaesthesia technician G R Bhat. They managed to resuscitate the patient after an hour of surgery.
According to Dr. Rayees Ahmed, the condition of the child is under observation and is recovering well. “It was a tough case, but the team showed great determination, and it worked out better than we had hoped,” he said. (TRK News)
