The Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) is deeply concerned about the significant delays in the processing of GP Fund withdrawal bills within Jammu & Kashmir. It has been brought to our attention that numerous bills, some amounting to less than 3 lakhs, have been pending with the treasuries for over six months. This unacceptable delay is causing severe financial hardship to the employees whose funds are being held without due process.
Amood Gulzar, a senior leader of DPAP, has expressed the party’s strong stance on this matter, emphasizing that the GP Fund is composed of employees’ own money, with the government acting merely as its custodian. The prolonged withholding of these funds is a violation of the trust placed in the government by its employees and contradicts the principles of good governance and employee welfare.
Employees depend on these funds for critical expenses such as medical emergencies, educational fees, and other essential needs. The delay in releasing these funds is causing unnecessary stress and financial strain, which is unacceptable.
DPAP leadership demands the following immediate actions:
1. **Expedite Processing:** All pending GP Fund withdrawal bills should be processed without further delay.
2. **System Overhaul:** Implement a streamlined and efficient system to ensure such delays do not occur in the future.
3. **Transparent Communication:** Maintain clear and consistent communication with affected employees, providing them with updates and support.
Amood Gulzar stated, “This is not just a financial issue; it is a matter of trust and respect. The government must demonstrate its commitment to good governance by ensuring the timely release of GP Fund withdrawals. Our employees deserve better, and we will not rest until this matter is resolved.”
The DPAP calls on the administration to act swiftly and decisively to address this issue, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare and rights of its employees.
