In a significant action against drug menace, Police Station Sogam apprehended an individual in possession of contraband substance during a routine Naka checking at Lassipora.
Identifying the individual as Rayees Ahmad Bhat, resident of Kanthpora, a statement issued here said the accused was found with approximately 35 grams of a charas-like substance.
“A case under FIR No. 61/2024 has been registered at Police Station Sogam under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.”
“Investigation has been initiated to uncover further links and prevent the spread of drug-related activities in the region,” reads the statement.
“District Police Kupwara remains committed to eradicating the drug menace from the district and urges citizens to cooperate by providing timely information about such activities. The public is assured that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in drug peddling,” reads the statement further.
