In a determined effort to curb drug trafficking, Handwara Police apprehended a drug peddler and recovered a contraband substance from his possession.
During routine patrolling on GMC Handwara Road, a team from Police Station Handwara, led by SHO Handwara, intercepted an individual identified as Abdul Wahid Bhat, son of Ab Khaliq Bhat, a resident of Turkpora Zachaldara. Upon searching him, officers recovered 9.14 grams of a brown sugar-like substance.
The accused has been taken into custody, and a case has been registered at Handwara Police Station under relevant legal provisions. An investigation is underway to trace further links in the case.
