JAMMU: Directorate of School Education Jammu has once again extended the winter vacations in the Summer Zone schools for one more day.
In a one line order, which was circulating in the social media and not uploaded on the official website of the Directorate till 11 pm, the winter vacations are further extended till January 19, 2024 in view of extreme cold weather conditions.
There is reference of all the earlier orders pertaining to the winter vacations in Summer Zone schools of Jammu Division without much clarity.
Director School Education Jammu could not be reached despite repeated attempts while the ministerial staff of the Directorate was also unaware of such development thus creating a confusion over genuineness of the order till late night.
However, an officer of the rank of Joint Director confirmed genuineness of the order on extension of the winter vacations. This is for the fifth consecutive time that winter vacations in Summer Zone schools have been extended.(Agencies)
