A heartfelt and grand farewell function was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) in collaboration with Civil Society Boniyar at Government Girls Middle School Boniyar to honour Mr. Hamidullah Ganie, Zonal Physical Education Officer Boniyar, on his superannuation after 33 years of commendable service in the Department of Youth Services and Sports.
The event witnessed the participation of a large number of esteemed personalities from the education sector and civil society. Prominent among them were Mr. Showkat Ahmad Sheerwani, Principal and Cluster Head HSS Boniyar; Mr. Abdul Rehman Lone, Zonal Education Officer Boniyar, lecturers Mr. Tariq Ahmad Mir, Mr. Javid Ahmad Mir, Mr. Showkat Ahmad Lone, Mr. Qouncer Monga, and Mr. Asif Ahmad Wani.
The function was also graced by Mr. Tahir Ur Rehman and Mr. Muneeb Ur Rehman, both Headmasters, Mr. Mubeen Ahmad Khan, ZPEO Fatehgarh, Mr. Shafat Ahmad Pandit, ZPEO Chandanwari and Mr. Javid Ahmad Budoo, Physical Education Master HSS Uri.
Also present were Physical Education professionals Mr. Iqbal Ahmad Budoo, Mr. Mohammad Sultan Najar, Mr. Sajad Hyder, Mr. Masood Ahmad, Mr. Sheikh Mubarak, Mr. Abdul Majeed, and Ms. Nageena; along with Ms. Shabina Masood, Headmistress, teachers Mr. Nadeem Latief Mir, Mr. Mohammad Ashraf Ganie, Mr. Showkat Ali Mir, Ms. Shagufta, Mr. Mohammad Abid Mir, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Tantary (Ex-Teacher), Mr. Abdul Hamid Mir (Inspector P.D.D.), Mr. Tariq Ahmad Lone, Mr. Mukhtar Ahmad Qureshi, Mr. Mohd Altaf Banday, Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Malik, Mr. Nissar Ahmad Malik, Mr. Mudasir Ahmad Tantary, Mr. Altaf Ahmad Mir, and Mr. Khursheed Ahmad Tantary.
Support staff and community members like Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad Kumar (Groundsman), Mr. Tariq Ahmad, Ms. Shazia, and Ms. Sabiya NYCs also participated.
All the speakers praised Mr. Hamidullah Ganie for his tireless dedication, professionalism and positive impact on youth and physical education in Boniyar. They recognized him not only as a committed officer but also as a respected civil society member. Speakers urged Mr. Hamidullah Ganie to continue his valuable contribution even after retirement.
The ceremony concluded with emotional tributes, heartfelt wishes and a token of love, celebrating the legacy of a truly devoted public servant.
