According to the schedule announced by the poll-body, the process of rationalization of polling stations in the two seats would be completed by April 04, 2025. The process of voter revision would start on April 8 with publication of draft electoral rolls. The claims and objections can be filed between April 8 to 24.

As per the poll-body’s schedule, the claims and objections would be disposed of by May 02.

The final publication of electoral roll would take place on May 05. Both the seats had fallen vacant in October last year. Omar Abdullah vacated the Budgam seat on October 21, while the Nagrota seat became vacant on October 31 following the demise of Devinder Singh Rana.

According to section 151A of the Representation of Peoples Act-1951, a bye-election for filling any vacancy must be held within six months from the date of the occurrence of the vacancy—(KNO)
