Srinagar, January 30, 2025: Er Aijaz Hussain, DDC Lalchowk and Senior BJP Leader, today successfully inaugurated the long-pending initiative for sand mining extraction from the River Jhelum in Srinagar, addressing an issue that has affected hundreds of local miners for years. The initiative revives traditional or customary mining practices, which were halted in 2019 despite receiving permission.

Through his persistent efforts, Er Aijaz Hussain has facilitated the identification of six key spots for traditional mining along the river, providing a lifeline to the local community dependent on this industry. The move is set to ensure sustainable mining practices while benefiting hundreds of people involved in the trade.
