Er. Rashid’s Bail Plea: Court Reserves Verdict for Sept 4

Srinagar: Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Wednesday reserved its verdict in a bail application pertaining to Member Parliament Abdul Rashid Sheikh, aka Er. Rashid, to September 4.

The Court after a detailed in-camera hearing. The court is expected to pronounce its decision on September 4, reported news agency ANI.

Last week, a Delhi court sought the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) response to an application filed by imprisoned Kashmiri parliamentarian Rashid Engineer, who is seeking regular bail.

Sheikh Abdul Rashid, widely known as Engineer Rashid, was arrested in connection with a 2017 Jammu and Kashmir alleged militant funding case. Despite this, he won the Baramulla seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, defeating former Chief Minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah.
