Former Minister and Ex-MLA Bandipora, Usman Majid, has strongly condemned the horrific terrorist attack on innocent tourists in Biasern, Pahalgam, calling it a gut-wrenching, cowardly and barbaric act that shakes the very conscience of humanity.
In a deeply motional statement, Majid expressed his anguish over the brutal assault that reportedly left multiple casualties. “This is absolutely heartbreaking and gut-wrenching news. Innocent tourists who came to experience the beauty of our land have been made victims of senseless violence,” Majid said.
Calling the attack “pure evil,” he emphasized that such acts of terror have no justification or place in any civilized society. “This heinous and cowardly act is beyond condemnable. It is not just an attack on individuals, but an attack on the values of peace, humanity, and hospitality that Kashmir stands for.”
Usman Majid extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and offered his heartfelt prayers for the swift recovery of the injured. “Today, we mourn with the families who have lost their loved ones in this tragic incident. Our hearts bleed for them.”
He further stated, “Enough is enough. The time has come for decisive, harsh, and uncompromising action to eliminate the threat of terrorism from our soil. We cannot and must not allow such acts to repeat. This is the height of cruelty and utter nonsense, a shameful attempt to derail peace and harmony.”
Usman Majid urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to unite in one voice against terrorism. “We must all come together to defeat this madness. Our silence helps the perpetrators. Our unity will defeat them.”
He concluded with a call for both immediate security review and a long-term strategy to safeguard civilians and tourists. “Today we mourn, but tomorrow, we must act with resolve, with purpose, and with unwavering commitment to justice and peace.”
