An educational visit was organized by Govt. Girls Middle School Boniyar, during which 35 enthusiastic students from Classes 6th, 7th, and 8th visited the Science Center Lab and the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) at Govt. Model Higher Secondary School Boniyar. The students were accompanied by their escort teachers, Mr. Mukhtar Ahmad Qureshi and Mr. Muslim Bin Akil.
Upon arrival, the visiting group was warmly welcomed by Mr. Showkat Ahmad Sheerwani, Principal and Cluster Head, along with other staff members of the host school. The visit was part of an initiative to promote scientific temper and innovation among students through exposure to modern science and technology facilities.
The first part of the visit took place at the Science Center Lab, where Mr. Khalid Ahmad Mir, a dedicated and knowledgeable teacher, provided an engaging demonstration. He explained in detail the various scientific instruments and equipment available in the lab, highlighting their names, uses, and real world applications. His presentation sparked curiosity among the students, many of whom showed keen interest in the practical aspects of science.
Following this, the group moved to the ATL Tinkering Lab, where Mr. Ghulam Mohammad Magray, Lecturer, delivered an inspiring session. He explained the concept and purpose behind the establishment of the ATL Lab, emphasizing the importance of creativity, problem solving, and innovation. He encouraged the students to observe their surroundings, identify localized problems, and work towards developing practical solutions. He also informed them that financial and technical support could be availed for innovative projects through the ATL platform.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks presented by Mr. Mukhtar Ahmad Qureshi on behalf of the Headmistress GMS Boniyar. He expressed gratitude to the host school’s administration and staff for their hospitality, guidance, and for providing students with an enriching learning experience.
In his closing remarks, Principal Mr. Showkat Ahmad Sheerwani appreciated the efforts of both the staff and the visiting students. He emphasized the importance of such visits in shaping young minds and encouraged other schools in the cluster to organize similar educational trips to enhance student learning beyond the classroom.
