The accused involved in the murder of gangster Sumit Jandial, alias Gataru, in the Jewel Chowk area of Jammu have been identified, according to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Kumar.
Speaking to Excelsior, the SSP confirmed that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to expedite the investigation. “Raids are being conducted at various suspected locations to apprehend the accused. They have been identified and soon we will disclose their names and gang affiliations,” he stated.
The SSP further revealed that dozens of individuals have been detained for questioning, and the police are confident of arresting the culprits soon.
The deceased gangster’s postmortem was conducted today by a board of doctors at Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu. Following the procedure, his body was handed over to his family for last rites.
The SSP assured that the investigation is progressing effectively, with all efforts focused on bringing the perpetrators to justice. Daily Excelsior
