On the occasion of International Earth Day 2025, a remarkable and eco friendly initiative was taken by the ECO Club of Govt. Girls Middle School Boniyar under the leadership of Headmistress Shabina Masood, Mukhtar Ahmad Qureshi Teacher and Muslim Bin Akil Teacher. As part of the Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) movement, the ECO Club generated QR codes for the plants that have been planted within the school campus over the recent years.
Each QR code provides detailed information about a specific plant, including its name, geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude), and additional data related to its plantation. The QR codes were printed and carefully pasted on plant stands or markers near the plants, allowing anyone to easily scan and learn more about each plant using a smartphone.
During the session, ECO Club Incharge Mukhtar Ahmad Qureshi addressed the staff and explained how this initiative promotes both digital learning and environmental awareness. He emphasized the importance of such activities in connecting students and the school community with nature through technology.
The staff members were highly impressed by this innovative step and applauded the efforts of the ECO Club. They expressed that such initiatives not only help in documenting and preserving the school’s green cover but also inspire students to take responsibility towards the environment.
This initiative also aligns with the objectives of the Mission LiFE, which encourages individuals to adopt sustainable practices and reduce their ecological footprint.
The day concluded with a collective appreciation of the ECO Club’s effort and a mutual commitment among teachers to support more such environmentally conscious projects in the future, making the school a model for green and digital integration.
