Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party (JKAP) president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today said the incumbent government should be given some time to address peoples’ issues.

He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a tricolor hoisting ceremony at party office in Srinagar on occasion of 76th Republic Day.

“I extend my heartfelt greetings to people of the county and J&K on occasion of 76th Republic Day. This is the day when our constitution was made public. And this is what we seek under its ambit. So today’s occasion is very important for us,” Bukhari told reporters.

Replying to a query, he said that it has been only 3-4 months for the government to be in the office. “Government has been in place for only 3-4 months. It is better to give them some time to address things. There is no need to comment as the government is itself admitting they are unable to do anything. So we should not add anything more in it,” he said.

Bukhari however said that there is a big change taken place on ground as people came out in large numbers and voted in recently held elections to elect their representatives. “I congratulate people for exercising their franchise. We accept their verdict. Today we have people’s elected government.  It is not those who comes from UP or Bihar. It is J&K’s own government,” Bukhari said.

“We pray for their success. Let them give some time to address things,” he highlighted. GK
