In a remarkable effort to combine sports, environmental awareness, and social responsibility, Hill Grange School Handwara organized a highly successful Cross Country Race under the themes “Clean India” and “Drug-Free Kupwara.”
The race saw enthusiastic participation from over 200 students, reflecting their commitment to physical fitness and a better future. The event began from Bypass Road Handwara, with the Girls’ race concluding at GMC Handwara and the Boys’ race at TRC Handwara.
To ensure a safe and smooth event, Police and Health Department officials were actively deployed along the route. The top-performing students were honored with medals and cash prizes, celebrating their athleticism and dedication.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Mr. Mohd Iqbal Shah, District Education Planning Officer (DEPO) Kupwara, who appreciated the initiative and encouraged the youth to uphold values of cleanliness, discipline, and social awareness. The Chairman of Hill Grand School was also present, lending strong support to the cause.
In his welcome address, the Principal of Hill Grand School emphasized moral values and the role of youth in shaping society.
“Avoid drugs, say no to polythene, and be ambassadors of a Clean India and a Drug-Free Kupwara,” he urged students.
Chief Guest Mr. Iqbal Shah, in his address, inspired the students by saying
