Home Minister Amit Shah conferred the prestigious ‘Excellence in Investigation’ award upon Senior Superintendent of Police Srinagar during a ceremony held in New Delhi on Thursday.
The police official, renowned for his investigative prowess, was honored at the Anti-terrorism Conference hosted at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan, New Delhi.
Balwal, an IPS officer from the 2012 Manipur cadre, has held various significant roles and played a key role in solving several high-profile cases, including the Pulwama militant attack that resulted in the tragic loss of more than 40 CRPF personnel.
It is noteworthy that the officer was recently repatriated to his home cadre of Manipur prematurely, owing to the prevailing situation in the state.
