The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has approved upgrading towns and cities in the Union Territories from the unclassified “Z” category to “Y” category for House Rent Allowance (HRA) benefits.
The decision complies with the Second National Judicial Pay Commission recommendations and a Supreme Court directive issued on January 4, 2024, in the All India Judges Association case.
