Bandipora — An IED which was detected on Bandipora-Srinagar road on Wednesday morning has been defused by the Bomb disposal Squad (BDS).
A police officer from police post Ajas, told Greater Kashmir that the army had found an IED in shape of pressure cooker on the side of road near Sunset point during routine patrolling, following which area was cordoned off and BDS pressed in to service to defuse the IED.
Following the discovery, the BDS with help from army and police jointly helped to “explode the IED,” the police officer said.
He said the traffic which was “halted” due to safety concerns will be let through in a short while as combing operations are underway. — (GK)
