Srinagar : Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference General Secretary Imran Reza Ansari on Saturday voiced profound concern over the grievances raised by law students of Kashmir University regarding the premature examination schedule for BA.LL.B 10th and LL.B 6th semester programs.

In an official statement, Ansari criticized the decision, stating that it has disrupted the academic rhythm of students due to the incomplete syllabus and inadequate classroom instruction.

“Students have rightly highlighted that such decisions blatantly contravene the Legal Education Rules, 2008, as well as the guidelines of the UGC and Bar Council of India, which unequivocally require adequate classroom instruction before final exams,” Ansari stated.

He underscored that hastening the examination process not only hampers the students’ academic preparation but also undermines their future prospects, especially for those at the critical juncture of their final semester.

Ansari urged the UT administration and University heads to realign the examination schedule with the regular academic calendar, recommending a rescheduling to January-February to ensure compliance with academic protocols and provide students with adequate preparation time.

“The administration must act with urgency and accountability to address this issue. Overlooking the genuine concerns of students risks compromising their education and future careers,” he concluded.
