Karnah: PDP’s Youth Wing President & assembly candidate from Pulwama, Waheed ur Rehman Para, today at a rally in Karnah while campaigning for the PDP candidate Firdous Mir, highlighted the transformative vision of the late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, emphasizing the unity of Kashmiris and the importance of fostering peace through cross-border trade & movement of individuals with dignity.
“Mufti’s vision transformed Kashmir, uniting its people and facilitating the free movement of goods and individuals across the Line of Control (LOC), paving the way for collaboration and peace,” Para said. He stressed on how Late Mufti’s vision helped bridge divides & created an environment where people could prosper through mutual cooperation and regional connectivity.
Para described the August 2019 decision as a direct assault on the dignity and rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “August 2019 decision was made to humiliate Kashmiris,” he said, adding that, “anyone who dares to speak up after August 2019, is put behind bars — be it politicians, journalists, lawyers, or even moulvis.”
Para urged the people of Karnah to reject the return of repressive measures that once plagued the region. “Don’t vote for the revival of crackdowns, Ikhwan, or POTA, Instead vote in favor of peace, progress, and the free movement of people and goods across the LOC”, highlighting PDP’s commitment to regional cooperation as a path to lasting peace and prosperity for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
