In a major development, scores of leaders from the Jamaat-e-Islami are poised to join the Apni Party, led by Altaf Bukhari, from the southern region of Kashmir, sources said.
Reliable sources told that it has become evident that individuals have recognized the consequences of opposing their own country and have realized that it is not too late to rectify their mistake by joining the mainstream and working towards a better future and life.
This is just the beginning, as it is anticipated that many other former Hurriyat leaders from different districts will also choose to join the mainstream in the near future, sources close to the Apni Party informed Kashmir Scroll.
Pertinently, Altaf Bukhari, the President of the Apni Party, has previously extended an invitation to all Hurriyat leaders to join the mainstream, emphasizing that the doors are open for them at any time to contribute towards a new dawn and bring about positive change. (KS)
