The National Health Mission (NHM) workforce in Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) and Ladakh consists of over 8,600 healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and allied health workers, according to data presented by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

This includes 153 specialists, with 121 in J&K and 32 in Ladakh, and 550 General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs), of which 453 are in J&K and 97 in Ladakh.

904 AYUSH doctors are deployed, with 858 in J&K and 46 in Ladakh. The region also has 1,926 staff nurses (1,810 in J&K and 116 in Ladakh) and 3,860 Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs), with 3,508 stationed in J&K and 352 in Ladakh.

The data further reveals that 1,719 allied and healthcare workers are part of the NHM workforce, including 1,552 in J&K and 167 in Ladakh.
