Peoples Democratic Party Thursday nominated it’s Senior leader Mohd Rafique Rather as Spokesperson of the Party with immediate effect. This was disclosed by Chief Spokesperson of the Party Suhail Bukhari in a press statement issued from Srinager today.
The trade union leader turned politician Mr. Rather joined PDP in the 2002 after opting for voluntary retirement from government job. Rather was a senior lecturer and a widely respected educationist of high repute having command over English,Urdu, Hindi and mother tongue kashmiri.
An upright trade union leader and an outspoken orater, Rather has gained a reputation of a firebrand leader among political circles very swiftly and has attained a unique quality of presenting things in the right perspective. Party sources told that Rather’s elevation as Party Spokesman would help party in building a pro- people narrative and take the Party’s policies to people in a more effective and impactful way.
Meanwhile many party leaders have welcomed the decision and hoped that Rafique Rather would take the party manifes to nook and corner of the state by his apt communication skills and great political understanding
