JAMMU: In a poignant farewell function held at the Police Headquarters, Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi bid adieu to his comrades in arms, expressing heartfelt sentiments about the enduring camaraderie between the Jammu Kashmir Police and the army.

Highlighting the symbiotic relationship between the two forces, Lt Gen Dwivedi said, “we work together, sweat together, and bleed together.”

Acknowledging the pivotal role played by cooperation in combating terrorism, Lt Gen Dwivedi lauded the unparalleled synergy between the J&K Police and the army, a testament to 40 years of dedicated service.

He expressed optimism for continued collaboration, envisaging even greater successes in the future.

As Lt Gen Dwivedi transitions to his new role as the Vice Chief of Army Staff, he reassured his steadfast support for the J&K Police, echoing sentiments echoed by R K Goyal FC (ACS), who praised the outgoing officer’s exemplary leadership and wished him well.

Director General of Police J&K, RR Swain, echoed these sentiments, expressing gratitude for Lt Gen Dwivedi’s cooperation and lauding his exceptional service.

“A professional soldier par excellence,” Swain remarked, emphasizing the personal connection and inspiration drawn from the esteemed officer.

Highlighting the profound trust and rapport cultivated by Lt Gen Dwivedi with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Swain lamented his departure while expressing hope for continued collaboration, underscoring the imperative of joint efforts for the region’s prosperity.

In recognition of outstanding service, Lt Gen Dwivedi decorated ADGP Jammu Zone Anand Jain and IGP (POS) PHQ, B S Tuti with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Disc, emblematic of their commitment to duty.

Mementoes exchanged between officers further cemented the bond between the two organizations, symbolizing a shared commitment to the region’s security and well-being.
