Srinagar, Jan 14: A group of selectees for the Junior Assistant positions under the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has raised their voices against the prolonged delay in the recruitment process.

Despite being promised a fast-track process under the government’s “Fast Recruitment Policy,” the selectees have been waiting for over three years for the recruitment to reach completion.

The aspirants told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the recruitment process began in 2021 and 2022. Following a lengthy wait, examinations were finally conducted in 2024, with results declared soon after. However, the process has stalled since then, as the JKSSB has failed to publish the provisional selection list, leaving candidates in limbo.

The affected candidates expressed deep disappointment over the delay, pointing out the stark contrast between the government’s assurances and the ground reality.

“The promise of fast-tracked recruitments has remained unfulfilled, despite the considerable time that has elapsed. Many of the selectees are growing increasingly concerned about their futures, with some waiting for over two years since the announcement of exam results.”

The aspirants said that JKSSB has not provided any clear timeline or explanation for the delay. The prolonged uncertainty has taken a toll on the personal and professional lives of the selectees, leading to financial strain and emotional distress.

They urged the JKSSB to expedite the preparation of the provisional list and initiate the joining process without further delay. [KNT]
